The Scarlet Macaw is known for its magnificent plumage that glows in brightcolours. It is not only beautiful but it is also very noticeable. In its home,the rain forest, however, he just blends in with the green leaves and colourfulfruits. Its favourite foods include not only fruits but also Brazil nuts, ofwhich it breaks the hard shell easily with its beak. You can often see ScarletMacaws how they lick clay on riverbanks. The clay renders toxins in unripe fruitharmless and for the macaw it works as a home remedy for stomach aches.
